  • Choose the version of SDK for SAP ASE that matches your ASE server version. For example, if you have ASE 15.7 SP138, you should select SDK for SAP ASE 15.7 SP138.



  • Click on the Windows link under the Operating System column.



  • Select the file PCClient157_0-80001472.EXE and click on Download Basket.



  • Review the terms and conditions and click on Accept.



  • Click on Download Manager to start the download process.



  • Once the file is downloaded, run it as an administrator to launch the installation wizard.



  • Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation. You may need to restart your computer after the installation.



You have successfully downloaded and installed Sybase PC Client 15.7 for Windows. You can now use it to connect to and manage your ASE databases.


How to Use Sybase Central to Administer ASE Databases




Sybase Central is a graphical user interface that allows you to perform various administrative tasks on your ASE databases. You can use Sybase Central to create and modify databases, tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, triggers, users, roles, and other objects. You can also use Sybase Central to monitor the performance and health of your ASE server and databases.


To use Sybase Central, you need to have Sybase PC Client 15.7 installed on your Windows machine. You also need to have a valid login and password for your ASE server. To launch Sybase Central, you can follow these steps:


  • Go to Start > All Programs > Sybase > Sybase Central 6.1.



  • Click on the Adaptive Server Enterprise plug-in icon.

  • Go to Start > All Programs > Sybase > Interactive SQL 15.7.



  • Click on File > Connect.

  • Select the database you want to connect to from the drop-down list.
